Abigail Werner discovered her passion for dance at four years old, and it’s been a part of her life ever since. While growing up, she took classes and performed in multiple productions with Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre (formerly Ruth Mitchell Dance Theatre). Abigail participated in Georgia Dance Conservatory’s (GDC) Teacher Training Program under Shelley Grames and Irene Berens for five years, where she found her love of teaching and honed her skills as an instructor. Abigail recently had the opportunity to set her choreography on the advanced dancers at Marietta High School, and she is currently in her seventh season of teaching at Georgia Dance Conservatory.

During her time as a dance student, she also discovered her love of dance photography and started her photography business Abigail Photos. She specializes in dance, performing arts, portrait, and wedding photography. Abigail’s portraits have a classic style, with an emphasis on capturing light and color in a natural manner. She also draws on her extensive dance experience to capture performers at their best. Abigail has been the company photographer for Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theater since 2013, and has also had the privilege of working with multiple other dance companies and performing arts groups in the Southeast, including Georgia Dance Conservatory, Roswell Dance Theatre, Atlanta Dance Theatre, West Side Elementary Drama Club, Sandy Springs School of Dance, and the Savannah Arts Academy. In 2019 she photographed the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association’s festival and will do so again for their 2020 festival. Abigail currently resides in Atlanta with her husband Kenny.
